English Translation
Open Educational Resources (OER) are "educational materials [...] that are licensed under an open license. Such a license allows free access as well as free use, editing and redistribution by others without or with minor restrictions. The authors themselves determine which rights of use they grant and which rights they reserve. "
OER's open licensing allows easy re-use and further processing of the materials. This reduces the effort involved in creating teaching/learning materials and facilitates adaptation to the needs of students. OER open up new possibilities for collaborative and participative forms of teaching and learning. OER can make the teaching expertise of the university regionally and internationally visible.
- Reutlingen University recommends its members to use, create and publish Open Educational Resources (OER). OER are in line with the goals of Reutlingen University of Applied Sciences. They can make a substantial contribution to the digitisation of teaching and to changing the teaching and learning culture. In this way, they promote students' personal responsibility and digital competence. When using, creating and publishing OER, the rules of good scientific practice and copyright regulations and the requirements of open licences must be observed.
- Reutlingen University recommends publishing OER with a CC-BY licence or a CC-BY-SA licence. Other Creative Commons licenses (e.g., by restricting non-commercial use) or other open licenses may be used if necessary or appropriate. This applies in particular if the license terms of the third-party content used in the materials so require.
- Reutlingen University recommends that the teaching materials created be published in a suitable manner in order to increase their visibility and reusability. The Central OER Repository of the Universities of Baden-Württemberg (ZOERR) is recommended as the preferred place of publication.
The university library is the university-wide contact point for all questions on Open Educational Resources.
