Ebba Ossiannilsson, Sweden
Professor, Dr. Ossiannilsson, is the V President for the Swedish Association for Distance Education, and the V President for the Swedish Association for E-Competence. She is an independent researcher, advisor and consultant in the areas of open online learning and education, including OERs and MOOCs as well as learning spaces and digitization. She is the founder and owner of her company Ossiannilsson Quality in Open Online Learning (QOOL) Consultancy.
Dr. Ossiannilsson awarded the EDEN Fellow title in 2014, and she became Open Education Europa Fellow in 2015. She is involved in Open Education Consortium. Since 2000 she worked at Lund University, Sweden, as an e-learning, open online learning expert with special focus on quality. She has been and she is still involved in national, regional and international projects on OERs, since it was launched in early 2000 and MOOCs, since it was launched in 2008. She has herself participated in over 40 MOOCs, since then, and she was the one who introduced MOOCS in Sweden. She is frequently invited as keynote for international conferences. She is board member in national and international associations, in the area of open online learning and education, including MOOCs and OERs. She was the research leader for the ICDE research study on global overview of quality models, and the evaluator of the SEQUENT project on quality. Ossiannilsson collaborate with the EC ET working group on digital and online learning, and with Commonwealth of Learning. Ossiannilsson is in the Ed. Board for several Scientific Journals. She is Guest Ed in the Education Sciences Journal, Special Issue on MOOCs.
She has a passion to contribute to open education for a Future We Want for All.
She earned her PhD at Oulu University, Finland in 2012 with a dissertation on Benchmarking e-learning in higher education: lessons learned from international projects. Ossiannilssons publications comprises over 200 publications: Conference papers, Journal articles, Book Chapters, Reports, Editor for books and her dissertation.
