OER Policy Lab @OER19

In cooperation with the OER19 conference team and the Centrum Cyfrowe, the OER World Map project organizes the first OER POLICY Lab. The event will take place one day before the start of the official OER19 conference:

This satellite event of OER19 will aim at:

Develop a global network of OE Policy Experts who want to cooperate in order to facilitate global mainstreaming of Open Education
Identifying new functionality needed for the OER Policy Registry
Collecting global OER policies, with a special focus on Europe

I thought this was a really useful high-level discussion of the ways in which we can use data to support the activities of policymakers and advocates of open approaches. It was impressive to have policy experts from around the world involved and I think the discussions that have been started will help refine our understanding of how people can be best supported.
