The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation (Hewlett Foundation)


The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation is a private foundation, established by Hewlett-Packard cofounder William Redington Hewlett and his wife Flora Lamson Hewlett in 1966. It awards grants to a variety of liberal and progressive causes. The Hewlett Foundation was the main financial supporter of open educational resources in the early years and has spent more than $110 million in the 2002 to 2010 period.
