The task of the professorship, according to its dedication, is to reduce the environmental impact of transport. At the TU Dresden we work primarily in the following fields:
Estimation of environmental impacts of transport: measurement and modelling of emissions of air pollutants, noise and CO2; emission factors of vehicles, driving patterns and traffic situations; energy consumption, energy flow models and cumulative energy expenditure
Monetarisation of environmental impacts: Assessment methods, monetisation approaches and internalisation measures
Conception and evaluation of measures to reduce environmental pollution: Approaches to action by various actors and levels and their implementation; cycling and pedestrian traffic, public transport and local accessibility, climate protection strategies
Mobility and coverage of needs: Which mobility needs are covered by which expenses, which are not? Mobility-related social exclusion
Awareness raising and information: development of guidelines, teaching materials, information or training concepts; sustainable transport development, transport in developing countries.
