This textbook covers the scope and sequence for a one-semester economics course. The text also includes many contemporary examples, including the Keystone Pipeline, Occupy Wall Street, and debates over the minimum wage.
The pedagogical choices, chapter arrangements, and learning objective fulfillment were developed and vetted with feedback from educators dedicated to the project.
Students can access the textbook from the OpenStax College website in multiple formats or purchase a printed version from the Foothill College bookstore. There was some (anecdotal) evidence that student outcomes were improved, but the primary motivation behind the intervention was to lower costs the most recent version is available in a Bookshare format, which supports DAISY and Braille-Ready-Fromat (BRF).
