The Center for Open Educational Resources & Language Learning (COERLL) is one of 15 National Foreign Language Resource Centers funded by the US Department of Education. The term OER refers to any educational material offered freely for anyone to use, typically involving some permission to re-mix, improve, and redistribute.

COERLL's work is organized around seven basic areas: 1. Applied linguistic research 2. Teaching materials 3. Language assessment 4. Teacher development 5. Less commonly taught languages 6. K-12 initiatives 7. Outreach and dissemination.
