Open Assembly

Open Assembly is a cloud-based platform for collaborative learning and content curation, inside or outside of a formal course structure. The platform allows users to connect with each other around three top-level feature sets: modularized courseware, OER content collections, and groups. Each of these feature sets facilitates the creation of social spaces for users to collaborate and interact. OER collections currently include best-in-class open textbooks, open courseware, Wikibooks, and over 6M primary resources in the Digital Public Library of America (DPLA). More OER collections will be added over time.

Open Assembly can be used as an external tool within any Learning Management System (LMS). We are especially focused on serving the needs of community colleges, with tools that increase student engagement by creating new opportunities for connection, collaboration, and interaction.

Open Assembly is a social entrepreneurship. We hope to develop a sustainable, affordable business model for OER.
