University Computing Centre (SRCE) supports and encourages open access and the usage of open educational resources (OER) and therefore supports the Croatian Declaration on Open Access (http://www.fer.unizg.hr/oa2012/declaration#) in 2012. By supporting the principles of open access, SRCE has issued a document "Open Access Policy" on September 3, 2014. In 2015, SRCE signed The Hague Declaration on Knowledge Discovery in the Digital Age. SRCE contributes to the culture of open access in Croatia by maintaining the Portal of Scientific Journals of Croatia HRČAK (http://hrcak.srce.hr/?lang=en) and Digital Academic Archives and Repositories DABAR (https://dabar.srce.hr/en). Following the Open Access Policy, SRCE provides open access to a number of educational resources developed within SRCE's educational activities (i. e. E-learning Centre, IT courses), expert analysis and policies in the various fields of ICT research and application, as well as articles and papers published or presented in journals and conferences. Therefore, in 2016, SRCE launched a new portal “SRCE and open education” with collection of open online courses and various educational materials prepared by SRCE and publicly available. SRCE regularly participates in the international events such as Open Education Week and Open Access Week with aim to raise awareness about the importance of open education and open access and to discuss about open education, new initiatives and best practices in Croatia and Europe with speakers and participants from academic community.
